Sainte Félicité University (ESSF), Benin: Courses and Admission

École Supérieure Sainte Félicité (ESSF), also called Sainte Félicité University, is a private higher school in Godomey (Abomey-Calavi), on the Cotonou–Abomey highway. It appears in the Benin Ministry of Higher Education's official guide for 2026–2027, with Licence (bachelor's) programmes in finance, marketing, communication, logistics, IT and management. The school's website groups its courses into four faculties: Language, Law and Politics, Management Science, and Health and Applied Sciences. It does not publish a full course list online. The most reliable list is the Ministry's official guide for new students, the Guide d'information et de sensibilisation des nouveaux bacheliers 2026–2027. It lists ESSF in two tables.

The ministry guide puts these two groups in separate tables. An accredited programme is the safer choice. If your course is in the second table, or is not in the ministry guide at all, ask the school in writing what diploma you will receive. This matters most for law, politics and health courses: the school's website mentions these faculties, but we did not find those courses in the ministry's 2026–2027 Licence list.

The school's website also says it offers postgraduate and PhD study. The ministry guide above covers Licence level only, so confirm any master's or PhD programme directly with the school.

The school's website says it admits students based on their qualifications, but its admission page does not currently list the documents. Nigerian students can expect to be asked for their O'level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB), birth certificate and passport photographs, but should ask the school for its full list and which grades their course needs.

Ask the school three things before you register: the teaching language of your course (the ministry lists every programme under its French name), the diploma you will receive, and the full list of documents. Sainte Félicité does not publish its tuition online. Pay the school directly, and keep every receipt. The rule is: verify first, apply second, pay third.

The school's website says "NYSC is Guaranteed". NYSC timing for every Benin school follows the Ministry's resolution, so the section below applies to every Benin university.

On 3 January 2024, Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Education suspended the accreditation of degree certificates from universities in Benin Republic and Togo, after an investigation into certificate racketeering. You can read the report and the list of affected universities at TheNigeriaLawyer.

• It is temporary. The resolution process is ongoing. Beninfo247 understands that the government has agreed to resolve it and that the remaining step is the Ministry of Education's public statement allowing graduates to proceed. On 11 March 2026, a House of Representatives committee recommended that the blanket invalidation be rescinded and replaced with case-by-case verification (report).

• It only affects NYSC. Until it is resolved, graduates of Benin and Togo universities cannot be mobilised for NYSC. After it is resolved, they can continue.

• It is a Nigerian decision, not a Benin one. The suspension is about how Nigeria evaluates certificates. Sainte Félicité is still listed in Benin's 2026–2027 ministry guide.
